Booking Policy

  • ALL bookings shall be paid in full at the time of reservation. For cancellations please see our Terms & Conditions.
  • DISABLED (including mobility, hearing and visual impairment) facility is self-contained with ‘fridge, TV, toaster, tea & coffee, continental breakfast.
  • DISABLED bookings to be made by telephone only.
  • GROUPS of 5 people or more must be booked by telephone, A group leader will be nominated for all group bookings and that group leader will be responsible for all pre-payments, including damage deposit.
  • All guests must have suitable ID such as passport, photo driving license or chip and pin card for payment. No ID, no stay -that’s how it has to be.
  • NO HEN or STAG parties – NO EXCEPTIONS Surreptitious bookings will be cancelled.
  • The Greenman is your home-from-home and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do – so we absolutely reserve the right to refuse bookings from anyone who might not care for The Greenman as much as we do. And you will be asked to leave if your behavior spoils the enjoyment of others or might cause damage or offence.
  • PLEASE DO: Bring your own towels (complimentary towels supplied for B&B guests only). Bring your own toiletries too unless you are a B&B guest. Also please bring a small padlock to secure your locker.
  • PLEASE ALSO: Don’t come into the building with muddy clothes and boots – there are plenty of washing off, boot cleaning and changing facilities so please use them.
  • PLEASE note that The Greenman is an old building and should be treated with care. Please observe all the information signs in rooms and especially bathrooms and toilets.
I arrived on a Saturday for a one night stay. The welcome I got from Mick and Ness was brilliant. As soon as I stepped into the hostel I felt at home. At this point I must say that the level of workmanship and decor at the Greenman Backpackers is second to none. I have never been to a hostel like it. It was more like a 5 star hotel. Everywhere was sparkling and the standard of the facilities absolutely brilliant. It is hard to explain just how good it is, I encourage anyone who is planning a stay in or around Chepstow to check out the Greenman. Whether you are on a budget or not the Greenman has to be the place to stay.

The bar is another great aspect of the hostel. Frequented by locals and residents it too has a very friendly inviting atmosphere. You get a feel for local issues and every one is so friendly. I am not the greatest bar visitor but the evening i spent there was one of the best.

The renovation of the hostel has taken 7 years and Mick and Ness have had the vision and determination to develop a wonderful concept. I cannot praise the Greenman enough, you must go there to experience what a fantastic facility it is.
