Chepstow Accommodation Reviews | Greenman Accommodation

It's a wonderful place, built and managed by a fantastic person. My friends and me have planned to stay just one night, but, after the experience we had there, we finally stopped three days and were really sad to leave.

Thanks Mick, keep improving that magical place!

I've seen lots of hostels in all Europe and this is certainly the best hostel I've ever seen! No better place where to rest after the all Offa's dyke path. Big and compy beds, croissants in the morning, a big pub inside with real and cheap ale, lounge with a fast WIFI and a big tv and a friendly and really good staff. We started with a nigh we finished with tree! Thanks guys!

Mari Lwyd festival Chepstow

The Greenman is far more than just a place to park your rucksack. Walking through this old building, which has been lovingly restored by Mick and Ness, is a history lesson in itself with its Georgian and Regency rooms and even a medieval moot house (still being restored).

The beds are extremely comfortable, the washing facilities excellent and there is a wonderful bar with a friendly atmosphere.

We stayed two nights for the Mari Lwyd festival in January and intend to return in the summer.

We cannot recommend the Greenman highly enough. In the "other details" section I describe it as "quaint" and "quirky" because these are the words that come closest to unique and fascinating.

A genuine surprise. I spend my life booking 4 and 5 star hotels for corporate Conferences so i know what to expect generally. Having just completed 12 days on the Offa’s Dyke i arrived into Chepstow and was told about a Brand new place that had just opened. Someone said it was a backpackers hostel so i was expecting something very Basic and functional. The moment i arrived i was bowled over, from being greeted by a most wonderful woman to an amazing and beautifully exotic and stylish building inside. I thought i had entered a beautiful boutique hotel . The bar was busy on a Saturday night , the staff and the local patrons gave me an amazing welcome as i had walked the Offa’s Dyke and i found this friendliness and warmth ran throughout this amazingly deceptive and mesmerising place. One of the patrons recommended a venue for dinner where i was meet a local friend.

It was exotic because to me it was a strange etheral mix of being a hotel, a hostel, a museum, an Art Gallery (the place has the most beautifully eclectic art and Photography. The furnishings are 5 star and the Greenman Backpackers has been created with love, taste and a real sense of community. I absolutely loved it. Breakfast is self-serve and everything is set out Perfectly in a modern high tech and communal ethos.

The bedrooms were brand new, smart and secure and the bathrooms had amazing showers and facilities, As i say i have booked and have stayed at many hotels and accommodation and its a genuine rarity to find such a place . Without doubt, will only stay here whenever i am in Chepstow again. The owner and his partner have created something unique.

What value for money! | 5 out of 5

Used this super Chepstow Backpackers on nights of 15 & 16 Sep 1. Excellent cleanliness; comfortable beds, very friendly staff and proprietors and superb value for money. Absolutely ideal for the BOBA reunion I attended with 3 others from my intake (group). Will definitely use the facility again next time I attend. RBS.

Room tip: Book early but if late still give them a ring as they are very accommodating.
